Kalymnos – Day 5

Today we climbed at Trois Ilots (Three Islands) – an area above the village of Myrties. Amy’s last day, she had a goal of four routes which was a race with the sun… she got her four routes in and the rest of the day was all about food and experiencing a little bit more of Kalymnos.

Jess hamming it up while getting lowered.
Steve executing some route-finding.
Alex… making it look hard.
Lunch at The Kalymnos Experience.
Mastic – dessert on a spoon, thick taffy-like tree gum that kind of has a flavor like sweet pine nuts.

After lunch we took the five minute, 2.50e ferry across to the island of Telendos to check it out. There’s climbing and a small village, our boat captain grew up there and reported that only 40 people live there in the summer, 20 people in the winter.

Sistah from another mistah.
But first, coffee photo.
Coffee and a biscotti pastry at a Family-owned cafe in Telendos — thank you Mikael!
Another dinner at Aegean Tavern — the views and the food here are amazing.
Seared Tuna with Fig and Beets…

We have been concluding each evening with beer/wine on the balcony as we watch the silhouette of Telendos disappear into the stars.
